I left disappointed because none of the special requests I’d made came through. I had specifically booked a room with a mountain view, but to see the mountain and lake, I had to go outside and lean sideways from the balcony. That’s misleading and should be clear when booking. For a romantic Birthday dinner, I’d also reserved a table with a view in the hotel’s restaurant. The table was nicely decorated, but again there was no valley or mountain view. Even at breakfast, we weren’t allowed to switch tables because of their rigid fixed-allocation system. More than 70% of the tables were empty, yet we had to stay at “our” table, which felt unnecessarily elitist. The staff were generally polite, the spa area was impressive and free to use, and the restaurant food was good. Watch out on the main sauna floor, though, it gets extremely hot and can burn your feet. Bathrobes for the complimentary wellness area were in the room, but there were no slippers or mini toiletries. That felt below what I expected from a 4 star hotel.

The pool was quite cold, so we couldn’t use it with our child. We chose this place for the combination of SPA and a pool that children could use, so that was a dealbreaker for us.

Our group of three had a single room each, and all were clean and spacious. We were all very happy with the hotel and will definitely stay again when we return. It’s a clean, quiet place close to Füssen, with very nice, friendly, competent and patient staff. They wear traditional Bavarian clothes, which was nice to see instead of business suits and ties. Free parking was handy, and the breakfast buffet was nice too.

The staff really made this hotel special. They were so friendly and keen to help, and even decorated the breakfast table for my friend’s birthday. Breakfast was very good, and I enjoyed the 25 minute back massage. The hotel and rooms are traditional in style and perfectly fine. Do try the homemade ‘Himbeere Lemonade’, it’s yummie! One thing to keep in mind is that the wifi is slow and 4g reception is poor here, which could be a problem if you need to make an online call, stream something or even do a quick google search.

We’ll definitely come back. It’s a beautiful, cozy hotel beside a lovely lake, with stunning views. The staff are very friendly, and the indoor swimming pool was the cherry on top.
