The terrace was less than half full on a perfect day, but we still couldn't sit down for a drink. The woman in the hat hurried around without any sign she meant to serve anyone, and didn't even welcome us in. Someone who knows how to run a restaurant should be hired. If you want a drink, fill your bottle from the tap and leave.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the service was excellent. We arrived just as the restaurant closed after a very long, hilly day on our hike, but the chef kindly stayed and made us a hot meal. There was mist while we were there, though I imagine the view from the room and patio would be impressive.

We stopped here for a long lunch during our walk along the Westweg, and it was a lovely break. The staff were warm, courteous, and really attentive, even bringing warmed milk with our delicious bio and eco-friendly tea. Hearty food and gorgeous cake, definitely recommend it.

The rooms were clean, and the restaurant was good. It's a nice hotel with a great view of the Swiss mountains when the sky is clear. Internet could be improved, since it was slow and sometimes didn't work. More satellite TV channels would be welcome too, as most of the 10 free-to-air channels are boring.

Waking up to birdsong and a morning breeze was wonderful. It's a peaceful, beautiful spot on one of the Black Forest's rolling mountains. The homemade strawberry cheesecake and chocolate cherry cake were delicious, and there are easy hiking routes, about 30 minutes to the source of the Donau. I'd definitely recommend a short stay.
