B&B Hotel München-Garching

Breakfast is pretty basic, with only fruit, yogurt, little muffins, pretzels and croissants to choose from. The rooms are small at 13 m², but it’s an okay place for a night or two.

Getting into Munich was easy, with a direct U-Bahn connection from Garching to the city centre. The beds and linens were clean and comfortable, and having extra towels was a plus. But my room was too warm at night because ventilation was centrally set to 24°C, with no controls for guests. There was dust and dirt on the floor, and the hotel had promised complimentary water bottles that weren’t in the room. No mugs or water glasses either, just paper cups, which I don’t like using. There was no kettle or paper towel, and no small toiletries such as cotton buds, toothpaste or moisturizer, so bring your own. The bed and quilt may be too small for someone 181 cm or taller. The hotel should pay more attention to cleaning and to providing tea and water things in the room.

Staff were friendly and helpful, and it was handy having free parking and the U-Bahn nearby. The room was cramped, smaller than a college dorm, and the price was very high, probably because bauma2025 had filled hotels around Munich. Our bathroom smelled moldy. The hotel was full, so we couldn’t move for the first two nights, but we appreciated being given another room afterward, which didn’t have the smell. Breakfast didn’t offer much for the price, and there aren’t many restaurants nearby.

I’ve stayed at several B&B Hotels and have always been happy with them. The Garching one is easy to reach by public transport, and the staff are welcoming, really nice and focused on guests. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.
