Forsthaus Graseck

We were lucky enough to have snowfall, and the view from our room was incredible. We stayed at this resort for three days and had a very good experience overall. The location is amazing, though there are a few things to know. The pools were too chilly for us, especially in the evening, and the ground-floor spa is a nude-only area, a rule we found borderline from a hygiene perspective and hadn’t encountered at resorts of the same level. There isn’t much for kids to do apart from using the second-floor pool between 10 AM and 12 PM. A playroom or miniclub would help. Breakfast was good, but a little limited compared with resorts in the same price range. Dinner was good overall, though not excellent, and 6.40 Euro for a 75cl bottle of water was absolutely unacceptable. Even so, we enjoyed the stay. You have to adapt, and have kids who don’t complain 😄

Snow was falling during our five-day stay, and the place felt like a magical winter wonderland. The staff were very helpful, and the carefully chosen four-course dinner was delicious. We were able to bring our dog, too. A perfect place to relax.

The setting is stunning, and the spa was great, but the evening meal was poor. The bathroom layout is strange too: there’s no real separation from the bed, just a glass door that leaves you with the sounds and sight of the bathroom. It made me think of sharing a prison cell. The hotel’s replies below came across as aggressive, so I’ve lowered my original rating. I paid around 300 pounds for a room, and that doesn’t seem to justify the hostility or change the awkward bathroom setup. Maybe bathroom doors should be sold as an extra?

The cable car ride up to the hotel was a great experience, and the view from our room was stunning. We enjoyed the dinners and breakfast. I’d definitely recommend it and would return.
