Hotel Garni Brunnthaler

We stayed three nights for a short ski break, breakfast included. It was served in a cozy room, and there was enough choice to get the day started. Our clean room had an updated bathroom with a lovely shower, plenty of closet space, and a private balcony facing the mountains, away from a busy street. There’s a well-equipped gym, plus a spacious sauna and a physiotherm infrared cabin. The large wellness room has showers and towels are provided. There’s also a ski room with heated racks for drying boots and gloves. Staff were attentive, helpful, and very friendly, and parking was included. Hausberg and downtown are both about a 15-minute walk.

I stayed at Hotel Garni Brunnthaler for two weeks. The room was spacious and clean, with a fantastic mountain view, and breakfast was fresh and delicious each morning. The woman serving breakfast was especially lovely, always smiling and kind. The hotel has a nice atmosphere and a lot going for it. There were some problems over a 14-night stay, though. The shampoo came in tiny containers, which housekeeping often forgot to replace, and the sheets were changed only once. I’d expect them to be changed at least every three nights on a longer visit. Around 16:00 one afternoon, maintenance came to fix hydraulic issues and arrange balcony flowers. That’s when many guests return to relax, so earlier in the day would be better. The biggest concern was my mail. I had a few Amazon packages delivered with my name clearly on them, but the owner opened them, saying he thought they were his. Maybe it was an honest mistake, but it felt like a serious lapse in guest privacy. Better housekeeping consistency and respect for privacy would make a big difference.

A handy base for seeing the German and Austrian Alps. The hotel is just a few minutes on foot from the train station, with frequent trains to Innsbruck or Munich, and the cogwheel train station is very close too. For the cable car to the top of Zugspitze, there’s a bus from the west side of the station to Eibsee, €6 cash only. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with a sparkling modern bathroom. The card entry lock and room safe added security. Breakfast was healthy and tasty, with breads, salads, meats, cheeses, eggs, fruit, and more.

The sauna and spa room were a lovely way to unwind each evening, and the gym worked for us too. We had a wonderful two-night stay, with the amenities all at a perfect distance. The beds were super comfortable, and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We’d book here again. Thank you!
