The mountain views from my balcony room at Staudacherhof were lovely, and the room was just the right size. I got there in time for the affordable afternoon snack, and the soup was amazing. The wellness area is extensive, impressive, clean, and thoughtfully laid out. I can see why someone might come just for the spa, though I’d recommend staying at the hotel too. Staff were kind and attentive, and going above and beyond seemed to come naturally to them. There were thoughtful extras in my room, including a welcome package for my dog, plus a hiking backpack, robe, and spa basket. Dinner was spectacular. I had the duck. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, with juice, champagne, meats and cheeses, lox, bread, yogurt and muesli, three kinds of honey, and pastries. They’ll also make fried eggs or omelets to order. I wish I’d had more time there. They really blew me away.

This was our second stay, and the mountain views were breathtaking. The staff are friendly, the bed is really soft, and both the spa and pool are good quality.

The food was good and the service excellent at this generally great hotel. But Room 404 has a bathroom that feels a century out of date, and the panel above the bed was moldy. They said they’d look into it, but never followed up.

Even with average weather, we had a fantastic stay at Staudacherhof in Garmisch. Traveling with two small children and two grandparents could have been tricky, but the hotel made things easy. The pool and sauna were a huge hit with all ages, and the on-site playground kept the kids happy. They made great friends there. The food was excellent, and the complimentary afternoon cakes were a lovely extra. Highly recommended for families!

We liked it so much that we added an extra day to our stay. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious and plentiful every morning. We rented bikes from the hotel to ride around town. The spa was amazing, with heated pools, a jacuzzi, and lots of different saunas. I highly recommend staying here.
