The accommodation sits around a small garden, but there were no insect screens on the windows. During our stay, spiders and insects turned up on the bed, walls, and floors. We were on the ground floor of the two-story house, while groups of men gathered on the balcony above us each evening from 4 PM until late, sometimes 2 AM. They drank alcohol and laughed loudly, making it impossible to sleep peacefully. The sheets and towels were worn and smelly, the pillows uncomfortable, and the bathrooms stuffy with no exhaust fans. Getting the keys was difficult too. We arrived at 3 PM and called Booking.com, who said to collect them from a real estate office that opened at 4 PM, but only gave us the street name. It took a lot of trouble to find. The office charged a €500 deposit, although Booking.com had only charged €200. They also added €90 to the total, saying there had been a Booking.com error. After we argued during the stay, they said they'd refund only €80 plus the deposit after checkout. We told them we'd leave at 8 AM so they could inspect, but they said to go ahead and check it that afternoon. We cleaned and tidied the apartment as we found it before leaving. We called all day to get our money back and were ignored. The next day, they messaged that €76.50 would be deducted for cleaning, plus another €10 because of a Booking.com error. They had already charged €180 for services through Booking.com, which is a very large amount. When we contacted them, they refused to return the full deposit and said they'd deduct €91.50. The total for five days ended up exorbitant, over €2520, or more than 10500 SAR. We sent bank statements to Booking.com, and they kindly contacted the accommodation several times, but more than two weeks after checkout, the money still hadn't been refunded. I had the worst host and accommodation experience I've ever had. Don't be fooled by the Booking.com reviews. I suspect the reviewers are acquaintances, and there are no more than eight of them.
