I booked a Junior Suite for three nights after seeing more than 10 photos on Booking.com, but the room I was given on arrival was completely different and much worse. When I showed the manager the listing photos, he brushed it off by saying they were from a “different category.” After I pressed the issue, he raised his voice. It was rude and unprofessional. They eventually moved us to the correct room type, but put us in a far corner room instead of offering any apology or consideration. I overheard the manager tell staff to give me a “smaller room.” I was traveling with my mother, who has back issues, and my one-year-old daughter, so having to walk up and down stairs to reception was unnecessary and difficult. I asked to cancel, but was told I could leave only without a refund. I then asked if I could stay one night and cancel the other two, which included my birthday, and they flatly refused. The lack of empathy, disrespectful treatment, and misleading room advertising made the stay miserable. As a frequent traveler, this was among my worst experiences. I wouldn't recommend this hotel, especially to families or anyone looking for a welcoming stay. Guests deserve honesty, professionalism, and respect, none of which I received.

We booked this hotel at the last minute, a day or two before arriving, since the snow wasn't great during the weeks we were planning and expecting to ski. The staff were super friendly and the facilities were great. We took a health day and enjoyed the spa and sauna, and could get massages there too. The spa area is very expensive, with two saunas, a steam room, an ice rub-down station, several kinds of rain and heated showers, and infrared features. Great value, awesome staff.

The bathrooms are modern, while the hotel has the antique style it aims for. Its location is perfect for Garmish. In summer, it can get a little hot because there's no A/C, and with the windows open, you may hear some main street noise at night.

The hotel itself was lovely, and our room was beautiful. The manager who checked us in was kind and suggested local places to visit. But when my partner and I tried to get in after hours, we knocked and rang the night bell repeatedly for an hour. Night staff later told us they had “forgot to turn on” the bell in reception, even though they could hear and see us from their position by the front door and reception, and did nothing. I'd stay again, but the night staff need serious, proper training. Lovely hotel, terrible night staff.

The rooms and wellness area were good during our three-night stay in two suites, though the rest of the hotel has seen better days. The English-speaking service staff were lovely. An older German man was simply rude and unfriendly, and really spoiled our stay. Customer service can make or break a trip, so I certainly can't recommend staying here.
