The owner kept breakfast available late for us, which was a nice touch. The room had a balcony and everything was spotless, with fresh linens and towels. It seems to have been remodeled recently. The place feels elegant and modern in a minimalist way, but it's still out in the quiet countryside. It's near Forsthaus Kasten Biergarten and the S-Bahn in Gauting. After staying at lots of B&Bs around Germany and Europe, I wanted somewhere other than a traditional Gasthaus, and this fit.

The internet could be a bit better, but the price was acceptable and the room was clean and nicely decorated. It's a very nice hotel away from Munich's noise. I'll definitely come back.

The only thing that let it down for me was the bathroom in room 4, which is much too small. That's the reason I took off one star. The room itself was spacious and clean, with a balcony, and the hosts are always friendly and helpful. The decor mixes art, design, and a modern style nicely. It's quiet and away from the bustle, so you'll need a car to get there.

The hostess was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious. The decor was tasteful, the room clean, and the mattresses had a good firmness without being too hard. Buchendorf is absolutely quiet.
