Gengenbach is a pleasant old town with plenty of tourists and things to do. In the centre there are lots of ice cream shops and pizzerias, and there’s an open-air swimming pool too. At the B&B, they didn’t replace the old sheets in rooms when a guest stayed for just one night, which was awful. I also saw them reusing food for guests, and they seemed obsessed with saving energy. I saw dirty room sheets being washed together with cleaning rags and clothes.

The house has an old-fashioned charm and was clean, though the furniture, including in the 'garden room' where we stayed, could use an update. Everything still worked, and we had a good time and may well return. The staff were really nice and friendly, and breakfast was good. You can reach the centre of beautiful Gengenbach in about a minute on foot.

Our rooms were spacious and had good views, and the living room was comfortable with fast Wi-Fi. The hosts were friendly and helpful. It’s close to the train station and about a five-minute walk from the city centre. Very good service and surroundings for the price.

We booked this for our family of three and were happy with the choice. The apartment had everything we needed for cooking, including an oven, heating coils, microwave, fridge, and a wide range of utensils. Our rooms and beds were big, and Host Anja was very friendly. The villa is next to green villa, about a two-minute walk from the train station and five minutes from town hall. Lafarrad is a shop about a 10-minute walk across the river, where you can rent bicycles. Super villa, best place to stay in Gengenbach. Definitely recommended.

Both the room and breakfast were amazing. We had a really nice stay, and the hosts were accommodating and spoke good English.
