Breakfast was delicious, with good coffee from the machine and a nice choice of bread and toppings. The selection depended on how many guests were staying: for the first couple of days there were only two of us, then more people arrived during the week and there were more jams, cold cuts, and types of bread. You can order egg dishes made fresh, but I tried a few times and the older gentleman who apparently owns the hotel either didn't hear me or ignored me. He looked at me, went off to clean rooms, and came back half an hour later. The hotel is in good condition. The beds were okay, though the showers aren't easy for seniors. The rooms have a TV, wardrobe, and other useful things, but the walls are thin. There's a terrace running along the front of all the windows, and the owners' dog roams there. There's no barrier, which could be an issue if you're allergic to dogs or afraid of them. The room card also turns on the electricity. It was a little confusing at first, but easy to get used to. There aren't many other options in Gensingen, so we'd probably stay again, though it's fine for a week.
