A technical issue with Booking led me to accidentally reserve two places for the same night. I politely asked customer service by phone to cancel one at no cost, but after several calls they declined. When I reached the location as planned, I still had no confirmation by phone or email, so I called to ask about the reservation. The woman who answered said they had sent an SMS I hadn’t received, promised to send it again, then hung up. Nothing came through, and on calling back I got an automated message saying the number was unreachable. I tried several more times and got the same result. I looked the company up online and found many Google reviews from people describing similar problems and having to find other accommodation. While searching, I found a number that apparently belonged to the owner. I contacted her and said I’d go to the police if I didn’t hear back. On my way to the police station downtown, I finally got a reply saying instructions had been emailed. The email had been sent after my message. After all that distress, I made it to my destination and found dirty sheets.

I was let down by both the host and booking.com. The host said I’d be in room 11 and told me not to take any other keys from the key locker. Since I was arriving very late, I asked for a photo of the locker at 2:30 pm, but got no reply, which was already a red flag. When I arrived at 11pm, there was no key for my room. No one answered when I called. booking.com couldn’t reach the host either, and told me to find another place myself in Giessen at midnight. They wouldn’t arrange anything for me. The next time I heard from the host was 10:40 am the following day, with no apology. Don’t risk booking this place. Treating a guest this way was unacceptable. The customer service from booking.com was terrible too.

The communication with host Kokash was zero, and so was the service. We booked two rooms with a kitchen sink, but got rooms without kitchens or sinks. Then he started asking for more money to give us the rooms we had booked in the first place. Every day, people stand in front of the mailbox unsure how to get the keys. Kokash is a very bad person with no idea about customer service.

I stayed here for an evening and couldn’t find fault with the apartments. The place was clean, spacious, modern, and really good value. I’m confused by the one-star reviews. I’d stay again.

The room gets too hot, so you have to open a window for fresh air and to cool it down. Then you’re stuck with lots of noise and car fumes.
