Gasthaus Hinterländer Schweiz

Great apartments.

For years, we’ve been meeting there every Sunday. The prices are absolutely fair, portions are good, and drinks are reasonably priced. With the staff rotating, the same dish can come out a little differently each time :-D We’ve heard plenty of anecdotes too, so there’s always something interesting. When the owner is there himself, it almost feels like a special dining experience.

We came as a group of seven, and the order had several problems. One person got a salad instead of a combo roll, and some dishes were missing ingredients that the menu listed. On one onion schnitzel, the onions were either barely cooked and nearly raw or completely burnt. The cook and server seemed overwhelmed with a group bigger than two. That was probably our first and last visit.

We waited 45 minutes after ordering. When I asked about the two schnitzels, the reply was, “The cook should be here any minute; he’s still at the other restaurant.” The server was very friendly, but the owner or manager was extremely rude.
