Behringer‘s felt like poor value, especially at 75 EUR/night, the most expensive place I stayed on my regional hiking trip. Although I booked a twin bed through Booking.com, my room had a single. The toilet was dirty, and the shower pressure was weak. I unscrewed the shower head and found a plastic piece restricting the water flow. It’s also too remote to walk to Goßweinstein. For a place that calls itself a 3 star hotel, it felt like they were trying to save money at guests’ expense. I’d only book it as a last option.

The asparagus was especially good, and everything came out nicely presented. I went for an outdoor meal with one of my kids, and the service was quick, friendly, and efficient. The road beside the hotel got loud now and then. Recommended.

We had a shady spot in the Biergarten for dinner, and the staff was kind and eager. The food was good, especially the Flammkuchen, though it was very salty. The Schnitzel could’ve been flatter and crispier. The main road runs right by, so motor cycle hordes showing off made it really noisy, a big downside, though not the owner’s fault. Without that noise, it would’ve been comfy.

There were quite a lot of people when we visited, so calling ahead to reserve is a good idea. We stopped by for Sunday lunch, and the food was very tasty, with swift, friendly service. It’s near many sightseeing sites in the area. I’d come back when I’m nearby.
