We stayed for two weeks at the beginning of September and had plenty of room, including lots of storage for our things. The apartment had everything we needed. Its location is especially convenient for setting off on lovely walks straight away, without taking the car. The landlords are glad to share tips and information about excursions.
Villa Maria is wonderfully quiet and relaxing, in a fantastic hiking area. During our five nights in the Chippendale holiday apartment with the Weißbach family, we found it even more spacious than the photos suggested, and it had everything we could need. Gohrischstein and Papststein are easy to reach on foot, and there’s a bakery and restaurants in the village.
We really appreciated how friendly the owners were. They welcomed us warmly and were always on hand with answers and useful tips. The Kolonial apartment was bright, modern, and spotless, with lovely details, and it was exceptionally quiet. The big balcony was a great place to unwind in the evening. It’s a handy base for exploring the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, and the guest card makes public transport free. The village bakery, with its wide selection, is only a short walk away. We’d love to return and highly recommend this vacation rental.
The covered parking spot had an electrical outlet for charging our two e-bikes, which isn’t something we take for granted. There’s also parking directly in front of the house, off the quiet residential street. The Chippendale apartment is in a peaceful side street, just a short walk from the center of Gohrisch, and one bedroom has a magnificent view of Lilienstein. This was our second stay, in May 2025, after first visiting in 2021. The apartment is very spacious, impeccably clean, and matches the website description. Ms. Weißbach was friendly and always helpful. We have no complaints, recommend both the apartment and the hostess, and look forward to coming back sometime soon.
This region has kept us coming back for over 30 years. It’s truly unique, with scenic peaks reached by beautiful trails, and we can leave the car parked for many day hikes. Bad Schandau train station and its parking lot aren’t far away. Over the past few years, we’ve stayed several times in the Weißbach family’s two holiday apartments, including again in spring 2022. The owners are very friendly and unobtrusive. Both places are bright, lovely, and comfortable, with good equipment and exactly as described and shown in the website photos.
