Altes Pfarrhaus Gondershausen

We slept better on our first night here than we ever have anywhere else. The apartment has a lovely, distinctive feel, and even though we only stayed two nights, we were relaxed almost immediately. There are also some really nice cycling and hiking routes nearby. We’ll be back.

A lovely sauna, welcoming owners, and dogs are welcome too. There are great trails nearby, with quick access to the Rhine and Moselle. A fantastic place to stay, a full five stars from me.

I hadn’t heard of Gondershausen before, but after a long search for somewhere near the Moselle, I found this place in Emmelshausen, on the Rhine-Moselle road between Boppard on the Rhine and Brombach on the Moselle. The OLD PARISH HOUSE, opposite the church, has two holiday apartments in a restored historic building. There’s parking right outside and an information board by the entrance. Inside, the old floor tiles, sturdy doors, wooden floors, and creaking staircase with its banister all add to the character. The apartment itself is spacious and thoughtfully furnished, with a well-equipped kitchen, a cozy living room, a quiet nook with two chairs and a side table, a large bedroom, and a bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub. There’s also a fitness room and sauna. I felt very at home here. For anyone cooking for themselves, the landlords offer pasta, sauce, jam, sparkling wine, and a few other useful things for a small fee, so you don’t need to leave the house. I’m happy with my stay. Thank you.

The Opitz family were so kind and shared helpful suggestions for places to eat and trails to try. We spent three lovely days in the Turmblick apartment, which was beautifully furnished and very clean. It felt like home, and we’d be happy to return.
