Hotel zur Ostsee

The room was very good and breakfast was really good too. When we arrived, there weren’t enough parking spaces, but the helpful staff sorted things out over the intercom. I’m taking off a star because there wasn’t enough staff and the signs and information weren’t translated into English. Otherwise, it would be five stars. Just keep in mind that their English isn’t very good.

Wonderful ❤️

We spent a few lovely days over Christmas and the holidays at Hotel zur Ostsee, in apartment 41. Since we arrived after 6 pm, we got a very friendly welcome by phone and found the keys in the safe at the entrance. The apartment had a double bed plus a separate bedroom with bunk beds. The rooms were practical, and the staff were all very friendly and quick to deal with any problems. Breakfast ran from 7:30 to 10 am. The two women in the breakfast room were attentive, cleared up promptly, and kept replenishing items when needed. My only small complaint was the TV channel setup. In winter especially, it would be nice if the channels were organized, since having to search from scratch among satellite channels 1-999 was annoying. Otherwise, it was a pleasant stay. The room was about €270 per night, plus tourist tax.

It’s a modern hotel, quiet because it’s set back from the beach, which is only a few minutes away. Parking and Wi-Fi are free, and nearby restaurants and cafes are easy to find. Just note it’s a bed and breakfast, so breakfast is the only meal provided. The breakfast is very good, though there’s room to improve. Pets are welcome, but the €20 daily charge per pet seems hard to justify. Other hotels include a blanket, bowl, and treats for that fee. The rooms are clean, but they use a very strong-smelling cleaning product that’s completely unsuitable for people with allergies.
