Ferienhaus Alpenperle

We just got back from a fantastic stay with friends. The house is peaceful, with lovely views and easy access to the picturesque center of Grainau and the surrounding landscape. It has been decorated to a high standard, with welcoming places to relax and enjoy the view, and the hosts were very helpful. The tram, bus, and train are nearby, opening up countless outings: gorges, mountain cable cars, Lake Eibsee, bike trails, and the local pool. We'd love to come back. Thanks to our fabulous hosts for sharing their home.

We were four adults, three children, and a dog, and stayed at Alpenperle for four days. The house exceeded our expectations and is conveniently placed for the attractions in Allgaeu. GAP is 10-15 minutes away, the Zugspitze lift is just a few minutes away, and it's on the road to Austria, with easy access to Innsbruck and Fuessen. Alpen Baeck bakery is only a three-minute walk away. I'd love to book it again next year.

The location and the view were my favorite things about this wonderful house. Photos really don't do the scenery justice, especially when sunrise lights up the snow-capped peaks. There's a nice sitting area just outside the kitchen where you can have breakfast and coffee while taking in the landscape. The house is comfortable and has everything a family needs. We traveled with our young son and my father, who has limited mobility, and it worked terrifically for us. I also cooked many meals in the spacious, well-stocked kitchen. It made a great base for exploring southern Bavaria. The train in town is very close, and it's a 15-minute drive to the larger station in Garmisch. From there, we took a very scenic two-hour train ride to Munich for Oktoberfest. Oberammagau is a 30-minute drive away, with the famous passion play and a fun alpine coaster that's great with kids or for getting in touch with your inner kid. Don't miss the abbey in Ettal on the way, with its amazing history, terrific beer, and a great cheese shop nearby. Mittelwald and Innsbruck are easy drives too. Our host was accessible and very kind. I only hope the place doesn't get so popular that it's booked up next time we return.

Such a great experience, WOW! The property is close to everything, and the surrounding area is wonderful and family friendly. Honestly, I'd rather not say much more because I selfishly want our family of k-7 to be able to come back without competing with everyone else, but WOW!
