Haus Deichblick

We felt at home almost as soon as we arrived, and ended up loving both the island and the place. We booked the Luana apartment just for the two of us, and it was perfect. The beach is about a 10-minute walk away, lovely for watching the sunset. There was plenty of crockery and cutlery, too. The place has some wear on the furniture and walls, and the stove takes a bit longer to warm up since it’s an older model, not induction. To us, those quirks added to its charm. Cleaning could be better. There was quite a bit of old building material left by the eight-legged friends, and the toilet didn’t look like it was from anything we’d been up to. The inside of the coffee pot was pretty dark as well. Still, it didn’t spoil our stay, and we’d happily come back.

There’s no balcony or terrace, though you can use a beach chair on the lawn. The beach is 3.5 to 4 km away. Inside, it’s a lovely little apartment, very well furnished with everything you need. The kitchen is fully equipped.

The Deichhof has everything you need, and having a private laundry room really made it feel like home. It’s a great spot to unwind and recharge. I’d love to return.

It’s extremely remote, and the farm right next door can sometimes bring some unpleasant smells. That’s part of country life, though. The holiday apartment itself is spacious and very nice, in a thatched-roof house. It was very clean and nicely furnished, and wonderfully quiet.
