We stayed in August 2024, and the price felt too high for a room without air-conditioning. If the swimming pool isn’t important to you, this might not be your first choice. The restaurant food didn’t meet our expectations, and neither did the service, even though the staff were doing their best. The reception desk also had too long a queue. Maybe there’d be a better balance in winter? Our room was non-smoking, but we could still smell smoke from neighbours on their balcony.

This was our sixth stay at the Bannwaldsee Hotel, and we’ll be back. We’ve stayed at many hotels in Germany, but nowhere else have we felt so welcome and at home. Everyone working there is friendly and goes out of their way to make guests comfortable. The comfort rooms live up to their name, and there’s a great breakfast, pool, and sauna. Pete & Karin Frey. The staff welcomed us warmly and really tried to make our stay enjoyable. Everything in the rooms and public areas was clean and in good order, and the breakfast had a really generous range of choices. The price was reasonable, availability was good, and the location was excellent. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it.

The setting was good, and it was clean, tidy, and serene, with a very good breakfast. My one criticism is that all the indoor public lights were off after dark. The automatic system didn’t seem to work, so I had to fumble around for the light switch in the dark.

Breakfast was great, and the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. It’s well located for travelers, and I found the amenities very enjoyable. A wonderful hotel.
