The room itself was in bad shape, with stained, dirty walls and furniture that was missing pieces. Everything felt old and broken. The bathroom smelled awful, as if it hadn't been cleaned in ages. We were promised a garden view online, but all we saw was the side wall of another building. We stayed only because we'd already paid. If we'd known what the room was like, we would have found another hotel. Lesson learned.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and it’s still a family-run place. The hotel has clearly had a recent renovation, with a clean, tidy modern rustic feel. It’s in lovely Bavarian countryside near the mountains, which makes it handy for hiking, skiing, and visiting the area's little historic towns and villages. The restaurant menu is limited, so vegetarians may struggle, though the food itself is good. I’d probably stay again.

I was there for work and got a tower room. It was lovely and really roomy, and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was part of the price, with a solid selection of the usual things. The coffee deserves a mention, it was excellent and really lifted my day. I was glad they had oat milk, too. The service was attentive, friendly, and just very pleasant. If work brings me back to the area, I’d happily stay here again.
