I stayed here twice, once on my way to Berlin and again on the return. It was a fantastic experience and well worth the money for a budget stay. I’d highly recommend it to backpackers and other travelers. The rooms were clean and nice, and the staff were very supportive. Frau Timea helped me get an adapter to charge my phone batteries and was helpful communicating in both English and German. The hotel is just a 5-7 minute walk from Halle (Salle) Hbf.

My family and I stayed at the hotel for a long time with our small child. We liked the service and found the people very friendly and always ready to help. Many thanks to the girls Elada and Marina. They made us feel comfortable, almost like at home.

My first impression was fine, but the room was a letdown. It was listed as non-smoking, yet the upholstery reeked of cigarette smoke. I complained at reception and got a puzzled response, though they immediately gave me another room. Its bed back had stains that looked like spunk on concrete, and the door frame was missing the lock plate.

8/10
The three-bed room was incredibly spacious, and the older fixtures were still quite acceptable for the overall feel of the place. We were crossing Germany and only staying one night, so we weren’t after anything fancy. The Atlas hotel made us feel at home, mainly thanks to the staff, especially given the harder times during the pandemic. Even though there weren’t many people around and the atmosphere was a bit quiet, we felt welcome and appreciated that.
