The staff made me feel like my presence in the building offended them, and the room was uncomfortable. The hotel looks as if it hasn't been decorated since the Kaiser's time. It felt like paying too much for a bad room and abusive staff. If that's not what you want, even a doorway might feel more welcoming.

The hotel and room both seem a little old, but it was clean and quiet, with everything you'd expect. The staff were very friendly. I missed having a hair dryer, though I didn't have time to ask reception that morning. I'd return for a simple overnight stay.

The rooms are clean and spacious, with comfortable beds, and the location is great. The furniture feels dated and the bathrooms aren't pretty, so it's not exactly a romantic choice in Hamburg. But for a tourist on a budget who wants cleanliness and comfort, it offers good value. A solid base in the city center.

The location may be good, but the price still felt a little high. It's very basic and old, with a tiny bathroom and a shower that's reached by a very high step. That feels out of date now.
