We needed somewhere for a few nights near friends in Hamburg, since their apartment only has one bedroom. The room had a few modern upgrades, but it mostly felt like an old backyard unit that someone had fixed up to make money from unsuspecting guests. The towels, bedding, and upholstered furniture were old. The owners have a large dog, which is fine by me as a dog person, but the lawn outside the room was covered in dog feces. Americans might call this a mother-in-law unit. Avoid this place. I suspect the other good reviews were written by friends.

The kitchen had everything we needed, and although the bathroom is small, it was well equipped. The garden house was comfortable and had plenty of space. We felt at home and were welcomed so warmly. Many thanks to the Heimbuch family from the Kohl family. We hope to book again next time we're in Hamburg.

We had an easy key handover, and everything else went smoothly too. It’s a small garden shed that’s been converted into a cottage, but it has what you need and worked well for a long weekend. There’s a nice garden and parking on the property.

The cottage is small and cute, and the landlady was very nice. Her dog is lovely. It’s a good choice if you don’t need much room and want to stay within reach of the city center. Bus connections are good, and there’s a kitchen for cooking. I can recommend it, though the place does smell a bit musty.

We only used the accommodation for sleeping because we had such kind weather in Hamburg, so it didn’t cause us much trouble. For a longer stay, though, the many shortcomings would be a problem. The furniture looks like it belongs in the 1970s and is heavily worn. The “attractive little house on Glogauer Straße” is really just a converted garden shed. It smells musty, and airing it out repeatedly didn’t get rid of the odor. Even at this price, I can’t recommend it.
