The staff went far beyond what we expected. She helped with taxis and luggage, and when she heard our flight was before breakfast hours, she made us a takeaway lunch. Thanks as well for waiting two hours past the usual reception closing time for us, and especially for letting us back in early in the morning to pick up a bag we’d left on the way to the airport. The room, bathroom, and shared areas were spotless and nicely decorated. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby, and we had three great meals within a short walk. We also walked along the pretty lake to the City Center, then made it all the way back from the port walkway.

The area was quiet, and bus 6 was very convenient, with a stop just a couple of minutes away. The woman at reception was really helpful. My wife felt a little dizzy, so they let us into our room earlier than usual and she could rest right away. Highly recommended.

It’s a beautiful building over 100 years old, with high windows and ceilings, wooden plank floors, and stucco ceilings. Everything was spotlessly clean. It’s right by the Alster and Eilenau Channel, and across the street from Opitz, one of Hamburg’s most enchanting, original restaurants, with incredibly good food.

The service was the best, whether at the front desk, in the rooms, or at breakfast. The breakfast was perfect and intercontinental. The rooms have high ceilings and parquet floors, and the hotel is in the middle of Hamburg, just five minutes from the Alster. I’ll book here whenever I visit Hamburg.

No sound insulation at all, and there’s no reception overnight. The little room was nice and very clean.
