A dog bed and bowl were provided for an extra 18 EUR per night, while the baby bed was free. Secured parking was also available for 19 EUR per night and was very convenient. We stayed one night and were offered water in the room, but the towels weren’t changed. The hotel welcomes dogs and babies and is perfectly placed for a morning run around the lake. It isn’t wheelchair accessible: there is a lift, but you still have to climb at least 5-7 steps from the ground floor to reception. That wasn’t very convenient with a stroller.

We loved the location and the friendly staff, and would stay here again if a larger, brighter room were available. We spent several nights in Room 3, on the ground floor behind reception at the front of the building. It was clean and nicely decorated, but quite small and dark. The shower had excellent water pressure and the beds were comfortable. The garden was a lovely spot to sit with a drink or read. Only one room was available on booking.com when we booked, which may be why we got such a good rate.

The hotel was very quiet, and breakfast was good. Street parking was easy and inexpensive. I’d definitely stay again for a city visit.

Getting from Hamburg Hbf takes only about a 10-minute walk, and there are lots of restaurants nearby. I think it’s nicely situated, especially if you have an event in the Alster area. The room was clean, breakfast was good, and check-in and checkout were hassle-free. Best of all, there are two retrievers who are usually in the lobby.

The double rooms are cozy and very nice, with strong water pressure, and the taxi service at the hotel was great. It’s a clean, quiet place with friendly staff, and I’d recommend it. The single rooms and the chairs in the breakfast room aren’t suitable for larger guests.
