Fresena im Dammtorpalais Hotel

My biggest problem at Hotel Fresena was the heat and humidity. As far as I could tell, there was no air conditioning, and it was uncomfortable nearly all the time. I couldn’t get one good night’s sleep, which matters most to me for being able to rest for the next day. The pillows were like tea bags, with loose filling that didn’t support my head. The bathroom was tiny, around 2 square meters, and at 190 cm tall I could barely stand in it. With the sink right over the toilet, I had to squat and turn to use it. The furniture was small too, and I struggled to fit at the breakfast table. There were good things as well during my four day vacation in Hamburg. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, and the hotel was very clean, never dusty. My room was spacious, about 3 meters high and 25-30 square meters. The beds were a good size and softness, and very comfortable. Breakfast had a wide, tasty range, from fresh bread to yoghurt and cereal, plus strawberries, melon, and other fruit and berries. Coffee and a wide selection of tea were always available. The hotel is close to central Hamburg, one train stop from the Hauptbahnhof, and within walking distance of the train. It’s a nice hotel, but comfort could be improved. In some places, like the breakfast tables, functionality seems to have given way to style.

We’ve been to Hotel Fresena four times and are already looking forward to another visit. It’s a charming hotel with really helpful staff, and the location is great, near Hamburg Dammtor and within walking distance of the city.

The staff were lovely, the rooms clean, and the beds good. The bathroom and room are a bit small, but it was still a good stay.

There’s lots of parking, and it’s family friendly. The people here were very friendly and helpful. Great service, thank you so much. I’ll recommend this hotel to all my friends.
