The kitchen had a boiler and microwave, which was all we needed for our hiking trip. The room was better than I expected: it had two beds, a fridge, a toilet, and space to hang clothes. Everything was very clean. We dealt with the owners and staff by phone, and they were attentive.

Everything worked, the place was clean, and parking was available. For what they charge, I think it’s good value, so I’m not sure why people expect luxury. Just be careful in the shower, since water can run onto the floor outside it. Also, there’s no lift, which matters if you have small children.

The kitchen has some utensils, so you can make your own breakfast or other meals. It’s a nice place for colder weather, though the lack of AC would make summer tough. With the windows open, you can hear the railway line behind the house and the road in front. With them closed, you don’t hear it. It’s a pleasant location, and the place is fairly clean with friendly staff. It isn’t luxurious, but it’s cheap. I liked staying here and would probably come back to Hamburg in the colder months.

Fine for a night. The trains behind the place and the busy road in front make it a bit noisy. Lidl is a five-minute walk away, and there’s a good bakery about seven minutes away.
