Hotel Stadion Stadt

I booked a particular room, then got a call the next day saying it was no longer available. They said I’d have to cancel or take a downgraded room in worse condition. That was very unprofessional and caused me a lot of inconvenience. I wouldn’t recommend booking unless you’re willing to risk having your reservation changed without warning.

The room was partly very dirty, apparently left that way by previous guests. There was no service at all, and the price was much too high.

A nice hotel.

There’s almost no parking if you come by car. At check-in, the guy at the desk told me I owed a 2 euro tax. I showed him my Expedia receipt with taxes paid, and he quickly said not to worry. It made me feel like he might have been trying to scam me. I’d paid 10 euros extra for a bigger room with a private bathroom, but because it was at the end of the hall and the shared bathroom was right by my door, I heard every shower and flush that night. My room looked decent, but it was street level, and the curtains didn’t block the light. I could see traffic and police lights and hear the cars all night. The shower and bathroom were decent, though the water drained badly and leaked across the rest of the bathroom floor. The building outside looked blah, and I saw a huge rat nearby when I went out for dinner. The restaurant down the block was a different story, the food and staff there were amazing.
