The hotel was quiet and pet friendly, with clean, nice rooms and staff who were friendly and helpful. If you get lucky, the view is nice too. It was a little hard to find because of the previous owners’ branding. Breakfast gets 2 out of 5, though I guess that’s not the staff’s fault. The planning, concept, or management was bad. How do you bake bread rolls and have them all be stale by the time people come down?

The manager’s response has been prompt and sincere, and they offered a full refund and said there would be an internal investigation. I’m updating my review to recognize that. What happened at reception was still deeply upsetting: we were humiliated and made to feel unwelcome by suggestive remarks about our names and personal documents, along with unequal treatment based on where we came from. It felt like blatant, targeted racism, far beyond poor service.

The location is handy, close to the train station and with food and drinks easy to find, though spotting the hotel was tricky because of its name. Look for 99Ninthy Nine, where you’ll see the Vienna House Easy by Wyndham logo. I took a photo to make it easier to find. My room was nice and clean, with just a small, hard-to-see spot on the floor, and I slept really well. Reception couldn’t find my reservation at first, but it was all sorted later.

The water view was beautiful, even though my room was really small.
