Hotel-Pension Kieler Hof

A comfortable, clean stay in a great spot right in the city center.

There was no hotel parking, and the place was badly kept. Our room and sheets smelled of cigarette smoke, and the only shared shower in our corridor was dirty, with other people's clothes and belongings in it. Outside, the area felt very unsafe: people openly taking drugs, drunk people asleep on the sidewalk, pickpockets, fights, screaming, sirens, and loud music, all night long. If I'd known, I would have slept in the car.

The location is great in daylight, but at night the area starts to feel dangerous. The hotel is old, and the bathroom was just okay, though everything was clean. We had an excellent breakfast, and the staff were really kind. Thanks so much.

The hotel is near the train station, but in a rough area, and we could hear the street all night while trying to sleep. Our room smelled of cigarettes. When we first mentioned it, the receptionist said smoking wasn't allowed, though there were visible marks where cigarettes had been put out. The shower wasn't ideal, set in the middle of the room, and the shared toilets never had anywhere to wash your hands afterward. They did give us a free bottle of water and a Coke because of the room issue, which was probably the only good thing. I wouldn't book here unless you need a cheap place to sleep before your next train, and even then I'd look for somewhere else.
