PLAZA INN Hamburg Horner Rennbahn

The night manager, Birol (& Mariami), made our stay. He greeted us so warmly when we arrived on a cold evening and offered to turn on the sauna. I was both shocked and excited, since I hadn’t realized the hotel had those facilities, including the steam room, foot spas, sun loungers, relaxation room, and gym. The sauna was just what we needed, and helped us all sleep better. I used it again on the second night while my friends went out. We were here for two nights while visiting "Heide Park" and "Hansa Park", and it was one of the best hotel experiences my group of friends and I have had. The hotel itself was lovely, clean, contemporary, and beautiful. The room had a night manager who’s a real credit to the hotel, and I hope his manager sees this and knows how happy he made us. We’re already planning to return next year. Thanks so much for a lovely stay.

The room itself was decent, but getting into it turned into a miserable ordeal. My first key card wouldn't open the door, and after another 15-minute wait in the reception queue, the replacement failed too. I had to go back down and queue again. This time the receptionist came up with a debugging device, took apart the lock, and still couldn't get it working. I waited outside for another 15 minutes before he returned with a working card, apologised, smiled, and left. There were no toiletries like a toothbrush or toothpaste, so I had to buy them from the hotel at a premium. I chose this place because I thought it would be better than the more familiar chains. It wasn't.

Yara at the front desk deserves a special thank you. She was exceptionally friendly and professional. Danial from quality control is also consistently kind and helpful to guests, and Biro and Nike on the night shift were friendly and very helpful too. The staff overall are incredibly professional and welcoming. One of the best hotels in Hamburg.

Mr Dag went out of his way to make sure we had a pleasant stay, and the service was unlike anything I've experienced before. We really enjoyed our time at the hotel. He made our experience in Germany, and we'll definitely return in the new year.
