Urban Heaven Aparthotel

Communication and service were very poor. They cancelled my reservation 14 days before the stay, with the embarrassing explanation that a pipe had burst. In this day and age, doesn’t every city have 24/7 services for urgent pipe and sewer problems?

The receptionist was a good guy, and the area was convenient, with a Rewe supermarket and police station right next door. We booked a tastefully furnished loft, though I wouldn’t really recommend it with a child since there’s no separate room.

Check-in and checkout were easy, and there was plenty of crockery, although we didn’t cook or have breakfast. We spent one night as a couple in a double room with a terrace on the 5th floor. It was well furnished and had what we needed, but a few things took the shine off the stay. The bed was only 140cm wide for two, with a very soft mattress and a high, firm pillow, so I’d bring my own pillow next time. The blackout curtains were too narrow for the windows, letting in the morning sun. At night the motion-sensor ceiling light stayed on for a few minutes if you went to the bathroom. There was a kettle but no tea bags, so bring your own. I’d recommend the hotel with those limitations in mind.

The kitchen was the bigger issue for us: there weren’t enough plates, and we missed having cups, which made the coffee machine a bit pointless^^. A couple of small repairs could also be done, like the bathroom light and curtain rail, though those didn’t bother us much. The rooms were very nice, and otherwise we had nothing to complain about. Keep it up ;)
