Ibis Hannover Medical Park

Breakfast is the best part of coming back to the Ibis Medical Park Hôtel in Hannover. There’s delicious food, and the chef is so welcoming and friendly. The rooms are comfortable, too, and the staff remember me whenever I return. I’m always happy to stay here, and recommend it 100%.

A handy stop for an overnight stay on the way to Berlin. The staff were very polite and helpful, and the beds were comfortable. The accessible room could be better, though. It would be more comfortable with more space and a double bed.

The room was spacious enough for one, and the shower had grab rails for older guests and people with disabilities. My bed was 140x200cm with a medium-firm mattress, but it was set sideways, which made watching TV awkward. I also appreciated that the staff respected the “do not disturb” sign and didn’t come in to clean. They left the towels and linens alone, which was good for my peace of mind and the environment. Getting around is the main drawback. The hotel is a bit far from the city center, and the tram is about a ten-minute walk away. It takes 30+ minutes to reach the center, so transport can get expensive if you have lots to do there. I had time for some walks in the city forest Eilenriede. The staff are very friendly and try hard to make your stay pleasant. They didn’t tell me I could use the pool at the Mercure Hotel next door, and it wasn’t mentioned in the information folder either. The bar was closed, but that wasn’t a problem since the Mercure Hotel next door has a bar and restaurant. I stayed three nights in a row, and the price felt midrange for what you get.

The breakfast is always a pleasure, especially the waffle machine, which helps make up for the limited hot food. I’ve stayed here a couple of times a year, usually for one night. It’s a bit basic, but the shower is good. I ate at the bar once, though the food options were limited, so now I go to the hotel next door for dinner.
