Kastens Hotel Luisenhof

The food was fresh and high quality throughout our visit, something we genuinely looked forward to. We spent three weeks at Kastens Hotel Luisenhof for a mix of work and vacation, and it became a comfortable home base in the city. After long workdays, my spouse and I could step outside and explore in the evenings without needing transportation. The staff were personal and attentive, and quickly picked up on our routines during the longer stay. It felt relaxed and welcoming, and we’d absolutely stay again, whether for a short visit or a longer one.

The two people working at the very small bar were friendly, attentive, and helpful, a real bright spot compared with other parts of our stay. Our room was a good size, nicely decorated, and well equipped. Breakfast products were good quality and the breakfast was generally good, though there was no panettone or stollen at Christmas. We stayed four nights over Christmas. On arrival, the receptionist was rude, avoided eye contact, ignored my “good afternoon,” and spoke arrogantly, with no welcome at all. The hotel was far from full, but staff seemed indifferent to the few guests. Tables were often left cluttered with used dishes, and we often waited for someone to clear them. On December 25th and 26th, a few more guests arrived and breakfast was moved to another room. The tables were poorly arranged, space was tight, and service became chaotic and disorganized, even though the hotel still wasn’t very busy. Fortunately, breakfast staff were more professional and friendly today, December 26th, and it made a noticeable difference. The location is good, and our room was good, but the atmosphere overall was mediocre. If you want to be treated well, this isn’t the right choice. We won’t return and can’t recommend it. 🫤

The spa is small but perfectly maintained, a nice place to relax after a day around the city. Breakfast deserves its own mention, with plenty of fresh choices and excellent coffee. The hotel is close enough to the city centre to reach everything on foot. Rooms are spacious, elegant, and impeccably clean, with discreet luxury in the decor. The staff are exceptionally friendly and efficient, somehow always a step ahead of what you need.

Everything was beautiful and clean, from the entrance to the dining area and the rooms. The staff were wonderful. I hope I get the chance to visit again, and I highly recommend staying here. You won’t regret it.
