Mercure Hotel Hannover Mitte

The rooms are modern and the hotel is clean, but my stay had some serious problems. At 08:05, housekeeping came into my room with barely a knock while I was still half asleep. I had to shout for them to shut the door. When I raised it downstairs, the woman stared coldly at me, showed no apology or sympathy, and made it sound like my fault for not putting out the do-not-disturb sign. Who starts cleaning occupied rooms at eight in the morning? At 11, that would be different, but people are still sleeping at 08:05. The shower temperature kept swinging between too hot and too cold, so I couldn't get a decent shower. The group reservation staff were also incredibly difficult to deal with. Maybe it was the same woman who gaslit me.

The rooms were pleasant and reasonably well maintained, and I was especially impressed that the central heating worked well. It's clean, comfortable, and in a good location. But the check-in and reception experience really spoiled it. I've rarely encountered such dismissive and unprofessional behavior. After checking in, I avoided the reception for the rest of our stay. They should just install self-check-in machines.

We were in town for Agri Technica over the weekend, and the hotel worked really well for us. The room was great, especially the shower, with reliably hot water, which matters a lot. There was a good range of food and it was excellent. The staff were lovely and professional. All in all, a very good stay, and we'd recommend it. Alex and Harry, UK 🇬🇧

The room is small, and the location really isn't great. It's quite a walk to the nearest train station, definitely not one minute. There's also no fast food or mall within a minute's walk. For me, a good location needs to be as close as possible to a station.
