Novotel Suites Hannover

The location is very convenient, and for the price it was a comfortable, pleasant stay that met our needs. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the safe worked. There were some issues: stains on parts of the carpet, noticeable marks on the table, a curtain coming loose, a broken light bulb, and a fridge that could have been colder. We also witnessed anti-social behaviour in the area.

It's in a really good spot right next to the station. The bathtub and bathroom products were definite pluses, and breakfast was okay with a decent choice. The scrambled eggs were very hard, but I enjoyed the fruit, oat milk, and vegetarian hot options. Inside, though, it feels dated despite the modern facade, as if it hasn't been renovated since the 2000s. The rooms are oddly put together, with school furniture, boat or airplane interiors, and 90s makeover-show touches. It doesn't feel purpose-built. The blinds look like they were added later, and the separate toilet is too small. My door handle only worked after a few tries. I slept badly because the pillows seemed well past their best. I also didn't like staff speaking to me in English after I'd spoken to them in German, my native language.

The location worked perfectly for us, and the staff were really friendly. We stayed for two nights in a very nice, clean room with a kitchenette, minibar, kettle, and microwave.

The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and reasonably clean, though the furniture is worn and clearly past its best despite the clever design. Keeping the ventilation on too long brought out a strange, old-cigarette smell, but opening the window helped. The hotel is close to the main train station, which is convenient, though the area isn't the nicest, especially at night, with some unpleasant-looking people hanging around. I didn't try breakfast.
