I’ve stayed in a few hotels, but this one will stick with me. I spent our vacation here with my son, and it’s one of the best places I’ve stayed. The old-fashioned hotel was quiet and comfortable, with convenient facilities in the room. The owner was friendly and open to chatting with guests. Breakfast was very satisfying, getting there by public transport was no problem, and it’s animal-friendly with parking available.

We stumbled on this hotel and restaurant by chance and liked it so much we came back the next day. Every dish was spectacular, and Monika was so kind to us. It’s definitely one of the best places we’ve visited in the region.

After a weekend in the Black Forest, we stopped here to eat on our way home. I’m so glad we did. The pork with ribbon noodles was the best pork I’ve ever had, juicy, tender and well seasoned, with an amazing mushroom cream sauce. My husband’s tri-meat with spazel was just as delicious. We haven’t had food this good in ages.

Be prepared to pay cash only. If you aren’t, there’s an ATM at the nearby Aldi. This is a lovely little B&B with an attached restaurant, and a traditional German breakfast is included: meats, cheeses, bread, jam, honey and coffee or tea. The owner and hostess was such a sweet lady. Our German was very basic, and I don’t think she felt very confident speaking English, though she spoke it well. It wasn’t really a problem, but knowing a little German would probably help. We had a great room with a mini fridge and minibar for snacks or drinks, and there’s a grocery store right nearby.
