The food tastes good, though it could use a little more finesse. I had regional dishes, including tender pork schnitzel and acidic salads, along with good red wine and espresso. Service was good. The interior is simply traditional, and there’s free parking.

The Porsche was the best part. It had 250,000 kilometers on it, but the owner let us keep it well beyond the voucher’s six hours: we collected it at 10:00 AM and returned it at 6:30 PM. We had booked through a Jochen Schweizer voucher for a “Porsche weekend for two,” and enjoyed the adventure, though not enough to pay that price again. You can get a Porsche elsewhere for the same money, and the hotel didn’t feel worth it. We’d been nervous about checking in after reading the reviews, and the reception wasn’t very welcoming. The room was quaint enough, with an okay bed and clean mattresses, but the TV didn’t work and a curtain had fallen onto the windowsill. From the bed we could see a gas station display board and a house being demolished. The bathroom was a disaster, so we were glad to spend the day at the water park and shower there. The building was noisy enough that we could hear our neighbor’s cold. We made it through the night, then had a fairly decent breakfast. The buffet was tiny, but the friendly woman serving breakfast made up for that.

I was there for 11 days, and it was the worst hotel I’ve stayed in. There was no toilet paper, and the trash wasn’t taken out or the place kept clean. It was extremely dirty everywhere. The room smelled strongly of old age and cigarettes. It was very cold, and on the last day they turned the heating off completely. Two blankets and my warmest clothes still didn’t keep the cold out. The window wouldn’t close all the way.

The Porsche Day we booked was the highlight, and we’ll definitely come back. This is a centrally located, family-run hotel that’s a bit dated. The room was basic and clean but could do with an update. Staff were friendly, the food was good, and we didn’t hear the main road at night. The owner said the necessary renovations would begin soon.
