We got a really good rest during our week at Häusles. The houses are nicely furnished and very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen. It’s peaceful, and you can set off on walks right behind the house without needing a car. The area behind our house was quite neglected, though. I also took a star off because communication before the trip was poor: several emails went unanswered, and we weren’t given any payment details. We only heard back three days before leaving, after contacting the booking service.

The apartment was simple but had what we needed, and there’s even a bread roll delivery from the bakery for breakfast. The owners are friendly and easy to reach. Coburg and Cronach are close by, with marked trails through lovely countryside around the area. It’s a great place to relax in the countryside. The downsides were ants in the ground-floor kitchen and the occasional cobweb on the ceiling.

The mattresses are getting old, and the furnishings don’t feel especially new or stylish, which is why I’d give it four stars. Still, it’s quiet, good value, and the holiday apartments are very well equipped. You can request bread rolls, and there’s a small, somewhat dated playground for children. Sheep, wild animals, and chickens are around, and guests can help with the sheep and chickens. It also works well as a base for older guests who want to hike. The little restaurant next door is worth considering on weekends.
