Hotel Bären

Breakfast was a real highlight, with plenty to choose from, and the facilities were sparkling clean. There’s also a pizzeria downstairs, so it’s easy to get Italian food without going out. The hotel is well placed for walking to both the train station and the Altstadt.

The staff were lovely and even helped us with a few things we’d forgotten. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and really clean. It’s in a quiet area, with easy access and parking, and breakfast was tasty and nicely served. Would definitely recommend it!

The owner was happy to greet me with a smile even though I got in close to 10 pm. There’s free coffee and tea, plus complimentary deodorant and mouth freshener, which was a nice touch. My room was clean, and the bears around the place are adorable. The owner speaks fluent English and offered to drive me to Hohenzollern Castle. Since the buses run so infrequently, that saved me time and money. I’d stay here again if I get back to Hechingen.

We used the hotel as a base for Burg Hohenzollern, and it worked well. Our one-bedroom apartment was under the roof and very spacious for two adults and a child. The sofa turns into a bed, and there’s a small kitchen with a stove, oven, and fridge, though we didn’t use it during our one-night stay. Breakfast wasn’t served at the hotel; instead, we got vouchers for the bakery across the street. It had a big selection, but anything over the voucher’s value cost extra.
