Hotel Restaurant Lamm

We were a family of 10 traveling around Europe, and this hotel was by far the most accommodating place we stayed. The atmosphere was warm, the people were lovely, and the food was amazing. When my 10-year-old son got sick during our stay, the staff were so attentive and helpful. A special thank you to Tanya for being so gracious with our group. The kids also had the cutest playground. Very impressive!

I had several meals here and wasn’t let down once. The restaurant’s menu has a good range of thoughtfully chosen, well-prepared dishes. The food and rooms were excellent, and the team was very friendly. Really a five-star score. Flawless?

I had two very good dinners here. The Schwabian mixed grill platter came with a large German ravioli called maultaschen, and it was delicious. I also tried the grilled beef and grilled pork cut, then on another visit had the Swiss wurstsalat (sausage salad) with pork schnitzel. Both were excellent, and the chocolate mousse was just as good. If you’re here for work at one of the business parks or to hike, I’d recommend staying at hotel Lamm. The restaurant is well worth visiting too. The location is a bit odd, in an isolated residential area about 4 km from Hechingen, near Stuttgart, and feels like the middle of nowhere. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with a large bathroom, powerful shower, and comfortable king bed. I was there for work and arrived around 6:45 pm on Sunday, planning to shower and relax before dinner. When I went to the restaurant at 8:05, I found it had closed at 8 pm on Sundays. On weekdays it closes at 9:30 pm. That’s a very early closing time for a hotel restaurant when there isn’t another decent restaurant within 4 km. My options were a 3-4 km walk in the pitch dark to a local Subway or BK, with poor data connection, or a gas station I’d noticed on the main road before the turnoff. I walked along the layby in the dark with my phone camera on to avoid becoming roadkill and reached the small station with 15 minutes to spare. Dinner ended up being potato crisps and Coke Zero.
