Serways Hotel Heiligenroth

The rooms are large and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom is a little cramped, though modern, with a shower. It’s set among the trees despite being right by the highway, and I didn’t hear any outside noise. There’s direct access to the highway restaurant, with places like North Sea and Burger Kings to eat at. Parking is free, and the internet speed was acceptable.

I wouldn’t stay here again. During my five-night visit, the room was never cleaned, and my experience at "the reception" was lousy. The girl who dealt with me didn’t speak English, mishandled the payments and room arrangements, then shouted that we had to pay even though everything was already paid. The rooms were poor too. The beds in the double rooms are very small, and the bathroom is tiny. If you’re over 180, this isn’t the hotel for you. Easily the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

We had a spacious room at the back, with forest views. It stayed quiet even with the window open, and the air was fresh. Getting to the hotel from the motorway was easy. Access uses cards, and the parking area has video surveillance. A few more sockets by the beds would be useful, but it wasn’t a big issue. Breakfast is available, though we didn’t try it. We had coffee, and staff were friendly enough to make an exception for us, since they prefer cash for small amounts and don’t take cards. I’d definitely use it again.

On my trip from London to Austria, I needed a break and managed to get four hours of sleep. They asked for proof of vaccination status for the visit. The service was amazing, the place was very clean, and nobody disturbed me.
