I never checked in because my flight was cancelled, so I can’t comment on the room. We’d booked after getting flight confirmation, but the cancellation came two months before departure. I immediately asked to cancel the reservation and was refused, with the full booking cost still due. I tried to reach another arrangement with the hotel, but they never replied again. Then, on the arrival date, they reported me as a no-show to booking.com, despite already knowing what had happened. Keeping the payment for a stay we couldn’t use, after giving two months’ notice, feels very disappointing. I could understand it with a last-minute cancellation. I can’t recommend the place based on this service. No rating for the room, one star for service, five stars for being near the airport.

The rooms feel a bit worn, and the doors still have old-fashioned keys. But the staff are great, and the food is incredible. In the evening, a beer with one of the bar meals and that lovely atmosphere makes the stay. That part alone deserves five stars.

At the time I’m writing this, it’s about 30 degrees in the room, and sleeping in that heat is awful. There’s no air conditioning or other way to cool it down, not even a fan. For 87€ a night including breakfast, that’s completely unacceptable. This is one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed in.

The hotel is convenient for many business travelers, with lots of businesses nearby, and the cleaning was done to a high standard. Some rooms have a sewage smell, though I’ve stayed in a few, and the beds are very firm. They use old-fashioned keys instead of key cards, which I find annoying. The staff are really friendly. Without them, I’d give the hotel three stars, so kudos to the staff and cleaners.
