Haus Nickels

The price felt far too high for this 40-square-meter apartment. We paid €221 per night for a five-night stay, and at that rate the lack of a dishwasher, the toaster that needs replacing, and the unstable internet were hard to overlook. With an outdoor temperature of 14 degrees Celsius, I also would have liked the heating on during the day. The location in the first row, looking out over the dunes and sea, is fantastic, and the apartment itself is nice, well furnished, and tastefully decorated. If it cost significantly less, I wouldn't complain about those issues.

The breakfast was excellent, and we felt very comfortable at this small, lovely hotel. Our room was clean and nicely furnished.

We had a wonderful holiday and would happily return. Hotel Nickels is quiet and looks out over the dunes, away from the busy areas. The rooms are very well equipped and spotless, and the friendly staff provide excellent service. Breakfast is served next door in the Miramar building, with everything needed for a good start. For a tip, homemade cakes are served daily in the main Hanseat building, where you can have coffee and enjoy the view of the Landungsbrücken (St. Pauli Piers) from the sun terrace.

Our apartment, number 4, had a sea view and was clean and functional, though a little retro. Breakfast was fresh and good. The accommodation is right on the promenade, with a very friendly welcome and excellent service. Ferry arrivals are convenient, since you can check in from 1 p.m.; on departure day, lockers and toilets are available until the ferry leaves. Excellent!
