The property itself is nice, and the garden looking out over the sea was lovely. The policies made the stay harder, though. Check-in and checkout are at a completely different location down the elevator in the lower town. You have to return the keys there quite early, and since the company owns many properties on the island, there was a line of at least ten people checking out. We and many others were stressed about missing ferries and booked tours while waiting. The hours are restrictive too: check-in is at 16:00, and checkout is only until 10:00. It felt like they were cutting corners a bit too much.

The room was decent, with an average view over the beach, and the standard breakfast was provided. The staff weren't the friendliest. More broadly, Heligoland doesn't seem very tourist-friendly to non-white visitors. If you're not local, or don't look local, expect stares and confused looks.

I stayed early in the season, when it wasn't busy. This cozy hotel is on the Oberland and has spectacular views over the harbor and Dune. Some rooms have a balcony where you can sit with a glass of wine and take in the view.

The view from the hotel is what the pictures show. It's very clean, and the service is kind, especially the breakfast lady. Highly recommend it.

The garden is a great place to relax, and the view and location are perfect. Everything was very clean, and breakfast was tasty.
