The gardens out front are lovely, and walking up to Villa Hintze feels grand, like you're on holiday somewhere special. It's one of the area's best-known historic buildings, a beautiful Gründerzeit house originally built as a seaside retreat for single women seeking rest. The apartments are lovely and conveniently close to the beach. My one criticism is that the owners and operators could have brought more of that history into the interior restoration. Some units feel much too modern for the exterior, though a few handle it a bit better.

We spent a week here, and the apartment had everything we needed. The Wi-Fi was a bit unreliable. Cyclists may find the setup awkward: bikes have to stay outside and be pushed up a ramp to the street. The drive behind the property is unpaved and full of potholes, so after heavy rain you have to work around puddles or use the ramp.

Apartment 2 was stylish and modern, and the house has a lot of charm. The promenade is only a three-minute walk away. Our main frustrations were the weak Wi-Fi and the lack of mosquito screens. With the house in the woods, evenings brought plenty of mosquitoes. The bathroom could also use more storage. Apart from that, we had no complaints during our long weekend.

We had a wonderful holiday in a fantastic apartment. It was clean and modern, with a big balcony, and close to the beach. I’d definitely recommend it.

I loved how modern and attractive the apartment was, but the cleanliness wasn’t up to my expectations. The Wi-Fi didn’t work, and I couldn’t get hold of the administrator either.
