Villa Margot - FeWo 01

The location worked really well for walking the dog, with a large wooded area just a few metres from the property. But the designated dog beach was much too far away, and getting there meant a long walk through the nudist beach. The steep cliffs also meant there was no way to reach it from land. The dog beach in Heringsdorf was far better, with restrooms, amenities, and beach chairs. We stayed for a week in apartment number 04 with two people and our dog. It’s on the ground floor and very dog-friendly, though in hindsight we could have chosen a higher floor since there’s an elevator. Key pickup and drop-off at the designated office were straightforward. The apartment itself was okay, and the beds were all right, but cleanliness was a real letdown. The balcony and windows looked like they’d never been cleaned, there were socks from the previous tenants in the bedroom drawers, and mold seemed to be spreading in the living room corners. One of the two clothes racks was so rusty it belonged in the junkyard. Some appliances were new, including the TV and coffee maker, while others were broken and unusable, like the floor lamp and the ancient radio. The furniture felt mismatched, with a table here and a sofa there. The mountain road was like living beside a highway, with hotel delivery vehicles and the island bus line passing very early in the morning. We wouldn’t book this apartment again because of the poor cleanliness and noisy location on the main road.

The beach was only about 100 metres away, which was a plus, and the apartment itself was okay for the price. The Wi-Fi was a real problem: it was weak and kept dropping, so my phone lost signal. That was especially annoying since you’re constantly on mobile roaming even though you’re still 15 km from the Polish border. The washing machine was unusable too, and probably needs a service or replacement. 😉

Apartment No. 26 was comfortable and really nice. The Wi-Fi kept cutting out, which was the one downside. The beach, restaurants, and shops are all nearby.

We stayed in apartment number 14 at Villa Margot. It’s furnished in a very modern style, and the location is perfect. We’d gladly come back.
