Hotel Hof 19 - Das charmante Ambienthotel

Handy as a place to stop while travelling, but there's nothing special about the room. Breakfast was very basic too, with no fruit or salad.

A cosy place in central Heroldsberg, with parking tucked away from view. The service was very friendly and accommodating. The astronaut shower, sadly, was only usable to a limited extent.

UPDATE: The owner tried to get this review removed through legal means, saying we'd never stayed there. I had to show receipts to prove we had. I'd be surprised if I was the only one. That's apparently how things work here. BEWARE! This feels like they're trying to squeeze every last penny out of this "hotel" without putting anything into it. It's a B&B, and not a good one. There's no reception. Booking.com apparently blamed COVID restrictions, while a sign at the property said we should have a room PIN. We hadn't received one, and although the caretaker let us in, reaching anyone by phone was almost impossible. We arrived at 4:00 PM, but the PIN email didn't come until 8:00 PM. Our son was 3 years old then. The room was okay for 2-3 people, and the bathroom was decent but not very clean. The caretaker also handled cleaning. He was helpful and willing to do anything, but seemed untrained and had limited language skills. At night, driveway lights came through the bathroom window and glass door into the bedroom. There were no proper blackout curtains, and our child was awake again at 6:00 a.m. We had to choose a breakfast time, but the food still wasn't ready then. The rolls were prebaked, and juice, jam and other items sat out in their original Lidl packaging. Only the cold cuts and cheese were arranged on a slate board. The coffee was good, but the juice was past its expiration date and fizzed on everyone's tongue. The breakfast café restroom was also being used to store supplies. Wi-Fi was advertised and available, but only around the "reception" area, with one bar that didn't reach our room. Far too expensive for what it is. Fine if all you need is a bed, but that's about it. Very disappointing.
