The owners were very friendly, and breakfast was good. We stayed in the suite. It was comfortable enough, though it felt like a throwback to the 70s with its orange hot tub and shower. It could use an update.

It means a lot to me to see the Piushof Hotel still going strong. It began as a farmhouse, and my father was born and grew up there before moving from Herrsching to the USA. Pius was my great-grandfather, and the building passed through many generations before becoming a hotel. I trained in the kitchen as an apprentice cook from 1977 to 1979. Enjoy your time there, and thank you, Robert Rehm.

The rooms are good, and the service is nice. It's a very pleasant place, though not exactly cheap.

Good food and a great location, with that classic wooden feel.

You can walk to the lake in five minutes, and it's completely quiet despite the great location. Andechs Monastery is a lovely 45-minute walk away. This small family-run hotel has spacious, clean rooms and a generous breakfast. The friendly owners and staff add to its lovely atmosphere, with old wooden ceilings and antique windows giving the place a special charm. A real little gem, highly recommended!
